Graduates of the Department of Food Science and Nutrition, School of Agricultural Sciences, University of Thessaly, are eligible to engage in work areas as described in the following file, according to the current legislative framework that applies to graduates of Departments in the field of Agricultural Studies, and specifically of Food Science and Nutrition.
Graduates, based on the theoretical and laboratory background, as well as the specialized scientific knowledge they acquire during their studies, become capable of interdisciplinary approaches and analysis of contemporary cutting-edge issues in the food sector, such as ensuring global food security, both in terms of quantity and quality. They have the ability to engage in activities such as investigation, identification, understanding, study, analysis, design, implementation, installation, supervision, operation, evaluation, conducting expertise, and certification in the scientific fields of food and nutrition.
A decision by the Senate (8404/22/ΓΠ) of the University of Thessaly to add Departments of the Institution, including the Department of Food Science and Nutrition, to the legislative framework of the Ministry of Rural Development and Food, for the extension of the right to practice the profession of agronomist to all graduates of agricultural direction Departments of Greek Universities.
According to a decision by the Senate (Session 261/26-11-2021) of the University of Thessaly, graduates of the Department have the ability to practice the profession of Agronomist.
