Visit of the 4th General Lyceum to the Department of Food Science and Nutrition (TETD)
On Wednesday, May 7, 2025, the Department of Food Science and Nutrition (TETD) had the honor of welcoming students and teachers from the 4th General Lyceum as part of an educational visit.
The visit began with a warm welcome and a presentation of the Department by the President of DFSN, Dr. Ioannis Giavasis. Dr. Giavasis introduced the students to the structure and operation of the Department, its academic and research activities, as well as the professional prospects of its graduates. Special emphasis was placed on the Department’s contribution to scientific research and innovation in the fields of food and nutrition.
This was followed by a guided tour of the Department’s laboratories, led by Ms. Chrysanthi Mitsagga, PhD candidate at ΤΕΤD. The students had the opportunity to see the laboratory equipment up close, learn about ongoing research projects, and ask questions related to food safety, nutritional value, and food processing technologies.
The visit concluded with positive impressions from all participants, reinforcing the connection between secondary and higher education and inspiring students to explore the dynamic and modern field of food science and nutrition.
