Each academic year begins on the 1st of September and ends on the 31st of August of the next calendar year, it is subdivided in two teaching semesters, the winter and the spring. Each semester comprises 13 weeks, followed by a 4-week examination period. There is also a recurring exam period for both semesters.
The academic calendar for the period 2021-22 is as follows:
Winter semesters
Winter semester starts: September 20, 2021
Closing of winter semester courses: 07 January 2022
Beginning of exams period: January 17, 2022
Termination of the exams period: 04 February 2022
Spring semesters
Start of spring semester courses: 07 February 2022
Closing of spring semester courses: May 27, 2022
Beginning of the examination period: 06 June 2022
Termination of exam period: June 24, 2022
Recurrent examination period
Start: August 29, 2022
End: 16 September 2022
The academic teaching is interrupted during the festive periods of Christmas and Easter and during summer. In addition, holidays are the established official holidays of the state, the 4th December (local holiday) and the 17th November and the 30th January (academic holidays).
