Upon successful completion of the course, the student:

  • Acquire foundational knowledge by focusing on and becoming familiar with the English terminology relevant to their field of study, and develop skills that are beneficial for both academic pursuits and future work environments.
  • Understand authentic texts on food science and nutrition, and with presentation of relevant audio-visual material in the English language.
  • Become familiar with the grammatical, syntactic, and lexical aspects of the English language, focusing on the use of English for specific purposes.
  • Will be able to prepare individual and group assignments in the English language. The aim of these projects is to familiarize students with the research and use of English literature, the use of English for Academic Purposes (EAP) and the promotion of collaboration between students in groups with the ultimate aim of preparing students to be in position to operate effectively in an international environment.
