In a recently published study (Ioannidis, John P.A. 2022. “September 2022 data-update for “Updated science-wide author databases of standardized citation indicators””, Mendeley Data, V4, doi: 10.17632/btchxktzyw.4) the contribution of scientists to scientific research is evaluated using criteria related to the number and citations of their scientific publications. Based on the c index (Composite citation index), research is ranked in all scientific areas, and ultimately the top 2% of scientists’ impact on a global scale is recognized. The faculty members of the Department, Mr. Ioannis Giavasis and Dimitris Makris are among the top 2% for the year 2021.
>> The distinction of the two professors of the Department was also published in the local press: NEOS AGON Publication
